TYPES

Condominiums & Townhouses
Older may be better... it seems
like the newer condos are smaller and further away
from the slopes.
Ski in Ski out vacation rentals are definately
the most desired during ski season.
There's a wide range or condo and
townhouse vacation
rentals in Whistler, but most were built in the
90's. Majority of these vacation rentals have full kitchens, lots of
bathrooms, secure ski storage and parking, and of
course,
hot tubs.
If you're looking for Whistler
golf
vacation rental, you'll find a selection of condos and town
homes on each of Whistler's golf courses.

Chalet Homes
In this Whistler vacation rental category I'd say that
newer is better. There are some very old ski
chalets in Whistler (by North American
standards). You will find the bulk of ski in ski out
chalet vacation rentals located in Whistler's Upper Village
and Whistler Creek. The majority of Whistler's
chalet rentals are located on the Nicklaus North
Golf Course and Green Lake.
Many of the newer Whistler rental
homes have heated
tile floors, stainless steel appliances, huge log
beams, fireplaces, balconies, and hot tubs. Hey, here's a chance to
see how the millionaires live it up in Whistler!

Log Homes
You probably won't believe me that
your whole holiday experience will be different if
you are staying in a big log home, but trust me on
this one. Words can't explain these truly BC
works of art, but you can expect most of these homes
to have full kitchens, lots of bathrooms,
fireplaces, balconies, storage, parking, and hot tubs.

Hotels
You will find a wide range in this
Whistler vacation rental category with regards to service,
facilities, and charm. The Fairmont Chateau
Whistler, The Westin, The Pan Pacific, and the Delta
are Whistler's most recognizable hotel chains.
After running a tour company in Whistler for a few
years, I can tell you that our Chateau Whistler
guests never complained about a thing.
Many of Whistler's hotels look
like condominiums or town houses. They are,
however, run and managed as hotels. Most offer small
kitchens, storage, and parking. Some also have
shopping, dining, health club, and spa facilities in
the same building.

AREAS
Holidaying in Whistler without a car is ideal... and possible.
Most shopping, bars and restaurants are easier to get to
by foot than by driving. Remember, Whistler now has
pay parking in many popular parking lots that used to be
free. Whistler taxis and the municipal
buses are easy to use and pretty cheap.
Whistler Village, the Upper Village, and Village North
are within walking distance to the lifts and on the
municipal bus route. You'll find a good selection of
restaurants, nightlife, and shopping
in any one of these Whistler neighborhoods. Whistler Creek
offers some ski in ski out vacation rentals, but is located a
short drive from Whistler Village. Nicklaus North is
not within walking distance to Whistler Village; however,
is on the bus route and offers greenside vacation rentals for golf
season.
Whistler Village lies at the base of Whistler Mountain,
offering immediate access to both Whistler and Blackcomb
Mountains. Whistler Mountain is accessible via the
Fitzsimmons Express chairlift or the Whistler Mountain
Gondola while Blackcomb Mountain is available via the
Excalibur Gondola. There are many ski in ski out vacation rentals
in Whistler Village, ranging from hotels like the Pan
Pacific and Westin Whistler, to owner-direct rental
condos.
Also, Whistler Village lies adjacent to the Palmer
design Whistler Golf Club and Whistler Driving Range for golf
season.
Adjacent to Whistler Village, the Upper Village sits at
the base of Blackcomb Mountain. Blackcomb Mountain is
accessible directly from the Upper Village via Magic Chair
and the Wizard Express high-speed chairlift. Whistler's Upper
Village also presents many ski in ski out vacation rental options,
including Fairmont's Chateau Whistler Hotel, Le Chamois,
and many owner-direct vacation rentals in the Glacier
Lodge, Treeline, and others.
Whistler's Upper Village is a short walk or shuttle to
Lost Lake Park for cross country skiing in the winter and
beach access in the summer. It is also handy to the
Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club.
Immediately North of Whistler Village is Village
North. Village North does not offer slope-side vacation rentals,
however it is only a short walk or free shuttle ride to
the ski lifts of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Village North
offers easy access to the Lost
Lake Trail System for cross-country skiing.
Village North's strength is proximity to restaurants
and shopping. Whistlers Marketplace offers
sushi, MacDonald's, Starbucks, liquor, sports
equipment, food stores, and everything else you might
need.
Village North Accomodations include a range of condos and townhouses,
from the economy of the Marketplace Lodge right through to
the spacious and deluxe Montebello town houses.
Four kilometers (2.5 mi) south of Whistler Village
along Highway 99, Whistler Creek also offers ski in ski
out vacation rentals.
Access to Whistler Mountain is available via the Creekside
Gondola. You'll usually get a great run home at the
end of the day on the Dave Murray Downhill race
course. Oh yeah, and a cold beer and Whistler's best
bbq beef sandwich at Dusty's.
Whistler Creek has been rebuilt with a mix of condos,
townhomes, restaurants and retail. This area does
offer private chalets and ski in ski out homes to choose
from and always seems less busy.
Further north from Whistler, along Highway 99 towards
Pemberton, is the Nicklaus North Golf Course. Also known as Green Lake Estates, this area offers
great sun exposure, views of mountains and Green
Lake, as well as proximity to the Lost Lake trail network
are all pluses. You will also find a retail shop,
restaurant and lounge at Nick North. A short bus or $5
taxi ride is all it takes to get to Whistler Village.
vacation rentals on the golf course
are primarily million dollar
plus chalets, with all the luxury you can imagine.
There is also a small selection of town homes in the
clubhouse and vicinity.
